Digging into LRX-37483, which covers sale total filter edge cases, I ran into some genuinely tricky locale number formatting behavior. The culprit was complex locale formats like de-DE, where 1.000,50 is a perfectly valid representation of one thousand and a half. That kind of inversion of the period and comma conventions used in en-US is exactly the sort of thing that slips through until you go looking for it. I caught several edge cases in PR #15546 and am working through them now. This one sits at the intersection of the deleted product search work and localization, which makes it a good reminder that number parsing is never as boring as it looks.
